Engineering Challenges: Shawn works on designing his sail car. Students used a scale drawing to help them design a car that would be powered by wind. Then they used drills, saws, glue, and an assortment of materials to construct what they had designed. The ultimate test of their design was a series of trials that determined which designs were the most successful.
Troy School's own Rob Barnes returned from Japan to share stories about his time in the Navy with students in grades 3, 4, and 5. Rob focused on the importance of education and how it helped him become successful in the Navy. It was good hosting Rob, as Mrs. Curtis was a summer camp counselor of his and Rob was a student of both Mrs. Kaber at Troy and Mr. Widmer, when he taught at Mt. View Middle School. Thank you, Rob!
