Vision

Curriculum documents are currently being reviewed and a revision process implemented. ··The Maine Learning Results have recently been revised: Chapter 132 Parameters of Instruction Maine Learning Results 2007 and our curriculum documents will be aligned to these new state standards.· Curriculum will be designed to engage students in exploring and deepening their understanding of important ideas and 21st century skills.

2012-13 RSU #3 is working towards developing a rigorous and VIABLE curriculum model.  We are a member of a cohort of school districts (Maine Cohort for Customized Learning) who are moving towards implementing a proficiency - based model.  We have identified measurement topics for the content areas and this will be the basis for our curriculum model this year, piloting these measurement topics in the classroom.

The measurement topics are available on our website.  Please go to the district home page - click on "Teacher's Moodle Pages" - login as a guest - click on the district moodle (student centered learning icon in the middle) and finally under courses click on "Measurment Topics."  Measurement Topics are currently being implemented for Mathematics, English Language Arts, Science and Social Studies.  During the 2012-13 school year, other content areas may be piloting the first draft of the cohort measurement topics with a revision to these drafts upcoming in the spring of 2013.
